Privacy Policy

The Short Version
KasMaker is designed with privacy at its core. Your workout data stays on your device. We don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Workout data — exercises, sets, reps, weights, notes, and routines. All stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Health data (optional) — with your permission, the heart rate and active energy your Apple Watch measures during a workout, and the workouts KasMaker saves to Apple Health. They stay in Apple Health on your devices; see section 4.
- Apple ID (optional) — if you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier and, only if you choose to share them, your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your real email.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect analytics or usage data.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect device identifiers for tracking purposes.
- We do not use cookies, pixels, or third-party tracking tools.
2. How Your Data Is Stored
All workout data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data.
If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and is not accessible to us.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your Apple ID credentials solely to:
- Authenticate your account within the app.
- Enable data restoration if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app's core functionality.
4. Third-Party Services
KasMaker uses the following Apple platform services:
- Sign in with Apple — for optional account authentication.
- Apple CloudKit / iCloud — for optional data sync across your devices.
- Apple Health (HealthKit) — only if you allow it. On iPhone, KasMaker saves your finished workouts to Apple Health and reads back only the workouts it saved, to update them instead of adding duplicates. On Apple Watch, KasMaker reads your heart rate and active energy during a workout to show them on your wrist, and saves the workout, with them, to Apple Health. Health data stays in Apple Health on your devices: it is never sent to us, never shared, and never used for advertising.
- Apple Watch connectivity — your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange the workout in progress (the current exercise, set, and rest timer) directly between your own devices.
- Apple StoreKit — for processing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Exercise illustrations are loaded on demand from the open-source free-exercise-db repository hosted on GitHub. When an image is fetched for the first time, GitHub (and its CDN provider) may receive your device's IP address and the path of the exercise image being requested as part of the standard HTTP request. Images are then cached locally on your device, so subsequent views do not generate further requests. We do not send any account, workout, or personal data to GitHub.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
KasMaker offers optional paid upgrades ("KasMaker Pro") including monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed securely by Apple through the App Store.
- We do not receive or store payment card details. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple.
- Purchase verification is performed on-device using Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not transmit purchase receipts to our own servers.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings on your device.
- Refunds are handled by Apple. Request refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com.
For details, see Apple's Standard EULA and Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with any third party. Period.
The only circumstances under which data may be disclosed:
- If required by law, such as a valid court order or legal process.
- Through Apple's iCloud infrastructure, which is subject to Apple's own privacy practices.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data lives on your device. You are in full control.
- Delete individual workouts — remove any workout and its sets from within the app at any time.
- Delete all data — use the "Delete Account" option in Settings to remove all workout data, routines, and preferences.
- Uninstall — removing the app deletes all locally stored data.
- iCloud data — if you use iCloud Sync, you can remove synced data through Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device.
- Revoke Apple ID access — if you signed in with Apple, you can remove the app's access through Settings > Apple ID > Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID.
8. Children's Privacy
KasMaker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We rely on Apple's built-in platform security to protect your data, including on-device encryption, the iOS sandbox, and iCloud encryption. Since we do not operate backend servers, there is no centralized database that could be breached.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for data processing.
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by managing or deleting data within the app.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
