EZ-Bar CurlMuscles Worked
The EZ-bar curl works your biceps, with the brachialis underneath helping on every rep. The angled grip turns your wrists slightly inward, so many lifters find it more comfortable than a straight bar while it trains the same muscles.

How to do it
- Grip the EZ bar on the outer angled handles with your palms up, about shoulder width apart.
- Stand tall with your feet about hip width, arms straight and the bar resting against your thighs.
- Keep your elbows at your sides and curl the bar up in an arc toward your upper chest.
- Pause briefly near the top and squeeze your biceps, without letting your elbows drift far forward.
- Lower the bar slowly until your arms are straight again, then start the next rep.
Form tips
- Keep your torso still; a hip kick to get the bar moving takes the work off the biceps.
- Use the full range, finishing each rep with straight arms instead of cutting the bottom short.
- The inner handles give a closer grip; pick one and stick with it so your progress is easy to compare.
